Day 5
God's Blessing To You:
"May the LORD bless you and keep you, may the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the LORD turn His Face Towards you and give you peace- Numbers 6:24-26

WE ARE SENT
Mark 7:31-37
31 Jesus left Tyre and went up to Sidon before going back to the Sea of Galilee and the region of the Ten
Towns. 32 A deaf man with a speech impediment was brought to him, and the people begged Jesus to lay
his hands on the man to heal him.
33 Jesus led him away from the crowd so they could be alone. He put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then,
spitting on his own fingers, he touched the man’s tongue. 34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed and
said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Be opened!” 35 Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue
was freed so he could speak plainly!
36 Jesus told the crowd not to tell anyone, but the more he told them not to, the more they spread the
news. 37 They were completely amazed and said again and again, “Everything he does is wonderful. He
even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.”
Every Sunday, we end our services with three simple words: “We Are Sent.” They are
more than a closing phrase. They remind us that what God does in us when we gather
is meant to flow through us when we go. As James 1:22 reminds us, we aren't called
merely to hear the Word; we're called to do what it says.
That is the heart of BLESS Week. Imagine the impact when an entire church chooses to
notice the people God has placed around them and intentionally becomes a blessing. A
prayer, a shared meal, a listening ear, or a simple act of kindness can open the door for
someone to experience the love of Jesus.
There's something in this passage I don't want us to miss. Verse 32 tells us, "A deaf
man with a speech impediment was brought to him, and the people begged Jesus to lay
his hands on the man to heal him."
Did you catch that? People brought him to Jesus!
This man had people in his life who recognized his need and cared enough to do
something about it. They didn't simply hope he'd find his way to Jesus. They took the
initiative to bring him to Jesus themselves.
What a powerful picture of what it means to live sent! God has placed people in our
lives who need to experience His love, and we have the opportunity to help bring them
closer to Jesus.
My prayer is that BLESS Week strengthens our commitment to be a BLESS
community:
Begin with Prayer,
Listen to Others,
Eat Together in Community,
Serve Others to meet their needs, and
Share Your Story.
But don't let it end with this week. These aren't five steps for one event; they're rhythms
for everyday life. Keep looking for opportunities to love your neighbors, serve your
community, and share Jesus.
