There have been seasons when it seemed as though everything was falling apart. Plans changed. Circumstances became overwhelming. I didn’t know what the next step would be—or how everything would hold together.

But God’s blessing is not a promise that life will never fall apart. “The LORD…keep you” is a promise that He will watch over us, sustain us, and hold us even when we cannot hold ourselves together.

We see this most clearly in Jesus. Through Christ, God has drawn near to us. And as we experience His keeping presence, we can become a blessing to others—especially those whose lives feel like they are falling apart. We don't have to have all the answers or fix everything. Sometimes we simply offer the presence, grace, hope, and love we have received from Christ.

After all, when I cannot hold everything together, I can trust the One who holds me—and become a reminder to someone else that they are being held, too.
